What was the point about the running joke in this chapter that you, the noble reader, should not assume the two bad guys were Italians or if they were, that they didn’t represent the broader, law abiding Italian community at large?
I feel like we’ve gone crazy with the woke-ness sometimes. On the one hand, I get the concern i.e. if a non-white person is shown in a movie to be a villain then there is a fear that people will get the wrong idea about all people of that ethnicity.
Then again, I think, for the most part, most people (I hope) are smart enough to realize, “Hey this one person of a certain ethnicity being shown as a villain is bad but that doesn’t mean everyone of that background is bad.”
My two cents, anyway.
