Maude’s been fielding crazies all day and to her, Professor Lambert seems like another one. Unfortunate, because he’s laid it all out there, but to a woman who just heard a cat get accused of being a murderer, her ability to suspend disbelief is gone.
Technically, Maude’s not wrong for not taking Lambert seriously and Lambert’s not wrong for threatening to go to the press. It’s just one of those unfortunate misunderstandings.
